It's summer - the time when things slow down a bit and everyone is a little more relaxed. So maybe it is a good time to think about how healthy your revenue cycle is. Ask yourself these questions and see if maybe it's time to give us a call to clean things up before fall.

1. When is the last time you had a full, in depth chargemaster review? If the answer is longer than a year ago, it would be a good idea to have it examined. If it has been longer than 3 years, you should call or email us NOW!

2. Have your high-volume services had more than a passing glance on them for documentation and billing review in the last 6 months? If not, let's take a look. You could be missing out on revenue or have a risk of one of the scary people coming in to see what they can find.

3. How's your turnover with the people who are doing your coding, charge capture, insurance verification, or billing? Every time an employee leaves, the game of telephone begins when a new person starts. Even stellar best practices are degraded over time, raising the risk of non-compliance.

4. Do you provide high-risk, high-cost services like medical infusion? This is an area of complicated documentation, coding and billing rules. The risk of non-compliance is high and so is the potential for incorrect reimbursement.
